Beer Cheese Broccoli and Rice Recipe by Howard’s Creek Authentic Beer Cheese

Equipment

2-quart pot with lid OR
Rice cooker

Ingredients

Rice packet or 2 cups of cooked rice of your choosing
1 to 2 cups fresh broccoli cut into small bite-size pieces (size of a quarter)
4 ounces of Howard’s Creek Authentic Beer Cheese
¼ cup cream or butter
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions for Pouch Type Rice

Cook rice packet according to directions in a 2-quart pot with a lid.

Once the rice is cooked, add 1 to 2 cups of fresh-cut bite-size pieces of broccoli and, 4 ounces of Howard’s Creek Authentic Beer Cheese, ¼ cup of cream or butter.

Stir all ingredients together and put the lid on. Turn off the heat. Let stand for 2 to 3 minutes.

NOTE: The broccoli will cook in small bite-size pieces (size of a quarter) without needing prior or additional cooking. After the 2 to 3 minutes, stir and taste; adjust with salt and pepper if desired, and reheat on low if necessary for 1 to 2 minutes. Be sure to watch that the broccoli doesn’t get overly done.

Directions for Rice Cooker (Gluten-Free option)

Cook according to your rice cooker.

In the 2-quart pot with a lid, add ¼ cup of cream (my preference) or butter and 4 ounces of Howard’s Creek Authentic Beer Cheese. Heat on low and constantly stir until blended. Add 2 cups of cooked rice until steaming.

Add 1 to 2 cups of fresh-cut bite-size pieces of broccoli, stir the broccoli into the mixture, and put the lid on. Turn off the heat. Let stand for 2 to 3 minutes.
